European Premiere Video — East London's Victoria Park plays host to the open-air European Premiere of Globe's wanderlusty new surf film, Strange Rumblings in Shangri La.

On Thursday July 31, Victoria Park in Hackney, east London, sprang to life with belly-dancers and Bombay mix for an open-air premiere with a wanderlusty twist.

Once darkness had fully descended, a huge cheer erupted from the five hundred faithful attendees as Globe’s new surf film, Strange Rumblings in Shangri La, flickered to life on the big screen. Under the sage-like gaze of the park’s majestic pagoda, the crowd sat in awe to marvel at director Joe G’s globe-trotting masterpiece of surf cinema.

Strange Rumblings reunites the award-winning team that produced 2011’s surf movie of the year, Year Zero, and features Dion Agius, Nate Tyler, Damien Hobgood, CJ Hobgood, Taj Burrow, Yadin Nicol, and Globe’s newest addition, Brendon Gibbens.

Captured on brilliant super 16mm film, the intercontinental crew set sail on an incredible journey that takes them through Brazil, Sumatra, Iceland and Mozambique as they search for the fabled waves of Shangri La and awaken the sense of wanderlust that beats in the heart of every surfer.
