Personal Truths

Is there such a thing as an objective shot? Or is all photography fiction – a carefully framed, personalised version of the truth?
This is the question burning at the heart of Huck 46 – The Documentary Photography Special II. And on September October 30, it will spring to life as Personal Truths, a group exhibition at Picture Farm Gallery in Brooklyn – that cuts through the silence that often surrounds documentary photography by celebrating the perspective of the people behind the lens.
With contributions from Krisanne Johnson, Guy Martin, Jason Andrew, Matt Eich, Harold Feinstein, Jonathan Mehring, Andrew McConnell and more, Personal Truths explores the stories behind the story – the ways in which in-depth documentary projects end up shaping the photographers’ own lives – to unravel layers of meaning behind the images we consume.
Join us for the opening on October 30, 6-10pm or pop by 12-6 until November 2 at Picture Farm Gallery, 338 Wythe Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11249.
Personal Truths also appeared in London as part of the The Shoreditch Design Triangle, September 16 – 26, 12am – 6pm daily (including Saturday Sept 20) at 71a Gallery, Leonard St, London.
