Much has been said about ‘Kaos Temple’ – the 100-year-old church in tiny Spanish town LLanera that was turned into a skatepark by the La Iglesia skate crew (renamed as The Church Brigade) almost five years ago.
But the space has come back up in conversation thanks to Madrid street artist Okuda who has transformed it into a technicolour dreamscape.
Okuda saw a picture of the space on the internet and was hooked. “I went crazy about this picture because I felt like there was this perfect symmetry between the ramps below and the dome above,” he says in a video interview (above).
The resulting interior is a kaleidoscope of geometric patterns and bright colours that works with the natural architecture of the church for an incredible effect.
